Gail Ludewig
President and Chief Executive OfficerGail Ludewig, a third-generation owner of TotalWorks, assumed her current role of president and chief executive officer in 2000. She has been a vital part of the family business for more than 20 years, previously holding the positions of vice president and treasurer. Through her leadership and insight, TotalWorks has evolved from a typesetting shop to a publishing solutions provider and innovative leader in the development and use of digital content across multiple channels.
Prior to joining TotalWorks, Ludewig served as vice president and chief financial officer of Total Communications Systems in Pittsburgh where she developed and implemented the company's financial restructuring plan, including accurate financial reporting systems, expense controls and profitability analysis. Previously, Ludewig spent more than seven years serving in senior positions at Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh .
Ludewig attended Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and a Master of Science degree in industrial administration. She serves on the board of directors and is a member of the executive committee of the IPA -The Association of Graphic Solutions Providers. She also serves on the board of directors for the Chicago Foundation for Women and on the Advisory Board for POWER: Opening Doors for Women. As a member of the Chicago AMA (American Marketing Association), Ludewig is involved in their B-to-B Committee activities. She is a member of PII (The Printing Industry of Illinois) and PIA/GATF (Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation), and was a featured speaker at the Crain's Small Business Forum: Women Business Owners Tell All.
